Trainer Academy CPT

Our guiding purpose for developing the Trainer Academy Certified Personal Trainer curriculum, exam, and certification is to minimize the prerequisite education and financial barriers to entry for becoming certified without reducing the level of knowledge needed to achieve certification, thus ensuring that all aspiring trainers become fully equipped to handle the demanding job of personal training.

This mission includes removing college-level prerequisites and providing both free and fairly priced premium study preparation materials to allow students from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds the resources they need to not only pass the certification exam but also exceed the knowledge and skill standards set by other industry-leading certifications.

Our core subject matter expert exam development team includes certified trainers with hands-on experience and a range of different certifications to create a curriculum that provides prospective trainers with the scientific, technical, business, and interpersonal skills needed for a successful career in fitness.

The full study material curriculum for the Trainer Academy CPT will be freely available as published resources on the Trainer Academy website.

The free resources will contain all the information needed to pass the exam, with each article covering a chapter or concept needed to pass the exam and be a successful trainer.

Students can purchase additional premium study materials such as flashcards and audio versions at a nominal cost. This will include an exam-pass guarantee so that students who fail their first attempt are not financially penalized and can retake the exam for no additional cost.

Between the free textual resource and the premium materials, students can prepare as much as they want for the Trainer Academy CPT exam without the relatively large upfront cost typically associated with fitness certification study materials.

Students will then pay for the exam and need only receive a passing score to become certified through Trainer Academy.

Since the Trainer Academy CPT exam will be NCCA accredited, all study materials will be developed independently from the exam itself by a separate team, based on content and knowledge outlines provided to the developers. Students cannot be required to purchase any study materials to receive certification, and becoming certified is solely contingent on receiving a passing exam score.
